A World Better Without One Technology

What technology would you be better off without, why?

If I had to choose one technology we’d be better off without, it would probably be technology that fuels addictive social media algorithms.

These algorithms are designed to keep people scrolling endlessly, often without realizing how much time has passed.

While social media itself isn’t bad, the addictive mechanics can lead to:

Reduced focus and productivity

Higher stress and anxiety

Comparison culture and low self-esteem

Less meaningful real-life interaction

Without these manipulative algorithm systems, we could still enjoy social media—but in a healthier, more intentional way.

We’d have more control over our time, our attention, and our mental well-being.

So it’s not about removing social media entirely—just the parts designed to exploit our attention.
